About Southwestern Oklahoma State University

Southwestern Oklahoma State University or SWOSU, is a public university in Weatherford, which is a city in Custer County, in the US state of Oklahoma, with a population estimated at a number of nearly 10 000 inhabitants, during the 2000 census.

SWOSU was established in 1901 and was originally named Southwestern Normal School. It is one of the 7 state regional universities in the state, and, in addition to the Weatherford campus, it also operates a branch campus in Sayre, OK.

Athletics
